Big day in British politics!

Poppy’s first election – 6 May 2010

Went along to the local school to help mum and dad vote.

Here we are at the polling station

Mum hadn't decided yet, so I was going in with her. Education, environment and free milk.

There was a huge queue. Because it was so close between Lib Dems and Labour, everyone wanted to have their say.

There would be a photo of us voting but they wouldn’t let us take a photo inside the polling booths.  Mum asked one person, then he had to ask someone else, who looked at us as though we were mad.  People in the queue started to shuffle.   I am not even 6 months and already my mother is a source of embarrassment…

It turns out taking photos is one of the things you’re not allowed to do in a polling station.
